اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ

Translatration:

Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi 'ilmika. Wa astaqdiruka bi qudratika. Wa as'aluka min fadlikal 'azim

Fa innaka taqdiru wa la aqdiru. Wa ta'lamu wa la a'lamu. Wa anta 'allamul ghuyub

Allahumma in kunta ta'lamu. Anna hadhal amra khayrun li fi dini. Wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri

Faqdirhu li

Wa yassirhu li

Thumma barik li fih Wa in kunta ta'lamu

Anna hadhal amra sharrun li fi dini. Wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri

Fasrifhu 'anni

Wasrifni 'anh

Waqdir liyal khayra haythu kana. Thumma ardini bih

Urdu Translation

اے اللہ! میں تیرے علم کے ذریعے تجھ سے بھلائی طلب کرتا ہوں،

.اور تیری قدرت کے ذریعے تجھ سے طاقت طلب کرتا ہوں، اور میں تجھ سے تیرا عظیم فضل مانگتا ہوں،

کیونکہ تو قدرت رکھتا ہے اور میں قدرت نہیں رکھتا، تو جانتا ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا، اور تو غیب کی تمام چیزوں کو جاننے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ معاملہ میرے لیے میرے دین میں، میری زندگی میں، اور میرے انجام میں بہتر ہے، تو اسے میرے لیے مقدر فرما دے، اور اسے میرے لیے آسان فرما دے، اور پھر اس میں میرے لیے برکت عطا فرما۔ اور اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ معاملہ میرے لیے میرے دین میں، میری زندگی میں، اور میرے انجام میں برا ہے، تو اسے مجھ سے دور فرما دے، اور مجھے اس سے دور فرما دے، اور میرے لیے بھلائی مقدر فرما دے جہاں بھی وہ ہو،

پھر مجھے اس پر راضی فرما دے۔

English Translation

"O Allah! I seek Your counsel by Your knowledge, And I seek Your ability by Your power, And I ask You from Your immense favor, For indeed You have power and I do not have power, You know and I do not know, And You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, And my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, Then ordain it for me, And make it easy for me, And bless me in it. And if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion, And my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, Then turn it away from me, And turn me away from it, And ordain for me good wherever it may be, Then make me content with it."

📚 Hadith About Istikhara

Jabir bin 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

He would say: 'When any of you wants to do something, let him pray two rak'ahs of non-obligatory prayer, then say: O Allah! I seek Your counsel by Your knowledge...'" (Sahih Bukhari)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said:

"The happiness of the son of Adam is his contentment with what Allah has decreed for him. And the misery of the son of Adam is his discontent with what Allah has decreed for him. Istikhara is a blessing; one who seeks guidance from Allah will not be disappointed."
